Outline Activities
My main research interests are in the following three fields of institutional economics.
The first concerns the 'theory' of institutional economics. My concern here is to reconstitute various developments in heterodox economic theories in terms of institutional economics and to make an attempt to synthesise new trends of institutionalism as the institutional analysis of socio-economic systems. The second concerns the 'applied'study of institutional economics. My concern here is to propose the hierarchical market-firm nexus approarch in order to develop the institutional analysis of Japanese economy in the post-war period and to explore the dynamics of the Japanese socio-economic systems. The third concerns the application of institutional economics to 'policy analyses'. My work here is to exiamine how the long-lasting recession following the collapse of the Bubble Boom influences the Japanese labour market under the pressure of the changes occuring in the wage and employment systems, and then is to consider the future of the Japanese-type employment systems.
