Outline Activities
Research and education have been started at the chemistry department of college of general education in 1993 (Dept. of Chem., Fac. of Sci. (Ropponmatsu campus) after 1994).
Research field is coordination chemistry: synthesis, structure, physicochemical properties, and functions of transition metal complexes. Main reserach subject is the synthesis and electrochemistry of metal complexes of phthalocyanines which are functional pigment material.
Lectures on basic chemistry and general chemistry have been carried out in general eduation field. In bachelor and graduate courses, lectures, practice of experiments, and guidance for degree thesis on inorganic and coordination chemistry have been performed.

    1993.04Studies on the Synthesis and Electrochemistry of Triple- and Double-Decker Sandwich Phthalocyanine-Rare Earth(III) Complexes. The syntheses and electrochemical properties of triple-decker sandwich dinuclear and double-decker sandwich mononuclear rare-earth(III) complexes with the functional pigment material, phthalocyanines (Pcs), as ligands have been investigating. Homoleptic triple-decker homobinuclear and homoleptic double-decker complexes with peripherally substituted Pcs have been synthesized, and their electrochemical redox behavior in solutions, especially peculiar ligand-based electrochromism, has been first elucidated. The syntheses, physicochemical properties and functions of new heteroleptic triple-decker homobinuclear and heteroleptic double-decker sandwich complexes, which are mixed-ligand complex containing unsubstituted and/or substituted Pcs, have been studied since 2001. Synthetic study on complete heteroleptic triple-decker homobinuclear complexes having three different kinds of Pcs is started in 2006..
