Outline Activities
Experimental psychology of Kansei (comprehensive perception, intuitive judgment and the basis of creativity)
I am inquiring "Kansei cognition" from the point of view of "Aisthesis", which meant "perception" in a broad sense originally. Kansei is a Japanese word which indicates sensitivity, sensibility, sense, sensation, feeling, impression, emotion, intuitive judgment, implicit knowledge, and so on. Using the technique of experimental psychology mainly, I am studying not only basic visual perception but also visual cognition of art and architecture including their sociocultural background. My key phrase in my research is "from vision to visuality."
