Outline Activities
Main fields of my research have been: the textile history of Southern Netherlands during the 13th-16th centuries, which was published in 1998, and the urban history, the commercial history, financial history, etc. Today, not only the aspect of economic history but political and institutional history became important more and more. The study of is one of the most important themes in the historiography after '80. My recent works about institutional and financial history in France and the Netherlands correspond to this field, which resulted in a book:"Burgundian State and Brussels" in 2007 and another one: "Formation and Transformation of the Burgundian State-Power, Institutions and Culture-" in 2016. In my seminar those students who are interested in the economic history will study actively with their friends the historical problematics mentioned above.
