Building Thermal Environment
Outline Activities
1981-1986 Research Associate, Faculty of Engineering, Kyushu University
1986-1998 Associate Professor, Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences,
Kyushu University
1998- Professor, Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences, Kyushu University
Prediction of thermal performance and heat load of buildings is the main field of research. Simulation soft ware has been proposed including multi-space, inter-space airflow, radiative heat exchange among room surfaces, connection with ground, sorption of walls and furniture. Specific objects of the simulations are evaluation of passive dwellings using natural energy, analysis of energy consumption in buildings, and proposal of energy saving devices. Main theme at this moment is life cycle assessment of buildings.
