Outline Activities
Outline of research
1.In this study, vibration charcteristics is investigated theoretically in order to reduce vibaration of farm machineries. In paritcular,vibration characteristics of driving,threshing and cutting section for combine harvester with a great number of vibration source is investigated through the numerical analyses based on the mechanical model and measurement of the 6 degrees of freedom of vibration acceleration. In addition, vibration analysis and identification of optimum design parameters for half tracked tractor are cunducted in order to improve driving speed.

2.The objectives of this study are to reduce grain loss and improve the separation of grain from chaff by controlling the threshing operation. First, a counting sensor with a piezoelectric element is attached inside the grain tank of a head-feedinn combine in order to monitor the grain feed rate in haravesting operations. Moreover,flying simulation of grains of paddy is performed through the dynamic movement equation based on hydrodynamics, and distributions of the wind velocities and directions are analized by FVM analysis. Recently,investigation of impact threshing begins in order to improve the threshing efficiencies.

3.ANC system is used for reducing noize level of head feeding combine cabin.

4.Safety system is constructed by sensor units system for reduching accident of agriculture operation.



Education
1.Not only knowledge of agriculture and bio-science but also jeneral knowledge of mechanical engineering is needed for design & development of farm machineries. So, the lectures of machinery design theory,internal combustion engine engineering, hydromechanics, vibration engineering and intelligence engeneering are conducted for graduate students.

Social activities
1.Collaboration with agricultural machinery and rubber crawler companies is performed in order to improve the farm machineries efficiency and construction of design theories for new machine development.
2.Collaboration with tire company is performed the research on prevention soil adhesion to agricultural tire.

    2003.04Vibration Characteristics of Half Tracked Tractor Recently, half tracked tractor equipped with front wheels and rear rubber crawlers has come into wide use in order to ipmrove the draft force and keep the mobilty in farm land. In this tractor, trafficability and mobity in soft land are superior to wheel type tractor, but driving speed in asphalt pavement is limitted due to vibration occurred by the rubber crawler driving system. In this study, optimum arrangement of track rollers reducing vibration in driving on the rigid suface is investigated through the numerical simulation based on the tractor dynamic model. Moreover, Wavelet Analysis is applied to specify the vibration wave in specified frequency in order to precise the simulation..

    2001.04High Speed Stability and Reduction of Vibration for the Agricultural Rubber Crawler vehicle Vibration characteristics of the agricultural ruber crawler vehicle is investigated through the thoretical analyses and experiment in order to perform high speed efficiency with low vibration of the vehicle. First, mechanical model of the rubber crawler system is constructed, and validity of driving simulation(Vibration simulation) is estimated through the comparison of numerical analyses and measurement of 6 degrees of freedom of accelerations of the vehicle. Moreover, identification of the dynamic parameters such as spring constant and viscous damping constant is performed using measurement data of dynamic loading forces acting on the track rollers and accelerations by Levenberg-Marquardt Method in order to improve simulation efficiency..

    2000.04Theoretical Investigation of Cleaning Mechanism in Threshing Section of the Head-feeding Combine, and application of Cleaning Control. Harvesting rice using a head-feeding combine, the amount of grain that passes through the threshing unit varies in accordance with the cutting width of the combine, the field speed of the combine, and the field's yield. The objective of this study is to investigate the optimum cleaning wind from the viewpoint of the aerodynamics of grains and chaffs in order to obtain optimum cleaning efficiency in accordance with grain feed rate. In particular, distribution of the wind velocities and directions in 3 dimensions area of cleaning chamber is made clear through the numerical calculation by FVM analysis and measurement by PIV method..
