Hematological Laboratory Science, Hematology

I graduated School of Medicine, Kyushu University at 1974. My main field is hematology since 1976. I had been working on stem cell biology, especially erythropoiesis in Polycythemia vera and regenerating hematopoiesis for several years. Then, theme in my researching works moved to the field of genetic analysis of Ph1-positive leukemia by using PCR analysis nad antisense DNA. I started my researching and educational activities for Medical Technologists in School of Health Sciences, Kyushu University at 1983, while I continued acitivities as clinical hematologist in the third department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicine, Kyushyu University. I had been in the Medical Genetics, Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Washington, USA, as a senior research fellow (
Prof. George Stamatoyannnopoulos) from 1987 to 1989. After coming back to Kyushu University, I re-started works on educational and researching works in Shool of Health Sciences, Kyushu University.

Main Researching Works: 1. analysis of microRNAs in erythropoiesis. 2. analysis of exosomes released from hematopoietic cells. 3. studies on molecular mechanisms of leukemogenesis. 4. molecular and cellular mechanisms of hematopoiesis. 5. development of new laboratory methods for evaluating hematopoiesis.

Main Educational Activities: 1. Education on Medical Laboratory Sciences. 2. Education on Health Sciences.
