Outline Activities
Contents of my research are followings:
1) Research on in vivo redox change associated with on-set/development of gastrointestinal diseases

It is almost clarified that the unbalance of redox balance between production of reactive oxygen species and free radicals and engoneous antioxidants is closely associated with on-set/development of various diseases. It is useful to combine the redox imager such as in vivo ESR and OMRI with spin probe technique in order to measure in vivo redox status non-invasibly. The relationship between the redox balance and the disease has been investigating in the experimental models of gastric ulcer, ulcerative colitis, and small intestinal inflammation using this combined technique.

2) Development of image processing software for redox imager such as ESRI, ESRI/OMRI, and OMRI

Because image quality of ESRI and the multimodality (ESRI/MRI) is influenced by irregular noise followed by real-time measurement in organisms, the optimum filter in the image process was investigated using phantom and tested for animal study. The software making the map of probe metabolism rate from raw OMRI data was developed. Moreover, the development of 3-dimensional imaging software fused between redox and oxygen concentration, which are obtainable from OMRI.

3) Research on bioinformatics such as bioassay data

The software of curve-fitting based on the logistic formula for bioassay data of a few hundred of chemicals and of making matrix data of parameters-bioassays in each chemical.

4) Research on reactivity between nitroxyl radicals and reactive oxygen species/reactive nitrogen species

It is investigated that reactivity between nitroxyl radical and hydroxyl radical, which is most hazardous to biomolecules, superoxide, and nitric oxide is investigated using ESR spectroscopy.
