Outline Activities
In the nursing major, lectured the following courses: Introduction to Child nursing, Child nursing 1, Child nursing 2, Practical training of Child nursing, General practical training, Graduate study, Introduction to Nursing research. In those courses, taught wide range of child nursing such as families health issue and problems of child nursing in order to link the theory and practice.
In the postgraduate nursing course (for Master): Advanced lecture of Pediatric and Maternal Nursing and Midwifery, Special research. For Doctor: Care system theory for growth of child and mother. In addition, in the Kansei Communication Course (the Department of Kansei Science): Introduction to Kansei Communication, Child and Family nursing, Training of Child and Family communication, User Kansei Science PLT 2, User Kansei Science 5, Frontier seminar, Internship, Special research.
Research works: “Action research to create places for children with intractable disease; pursuing Japan-fitting children’s hospice”, “Review on the Place of End-of-life care at the scene of children terminal care; creating such place at Japan-fitting children’s hospice” and “Development of Grief Care Programs for Bereaved families”. Also participating some group projects.
Social activities: starting up the Fukuoka Children’s hospice project in 2010 and organizing forums on children with intractable disease and/or disabilities and other events to have fun. In 2012, launched the Children’s hospice network with other medical personnel. The hospice project was converted into nonprofit organization in 2014 and accelerating its’ plan.
Other activities: Visiting lecturer (at University of Occupational and Environmental Health, and Kurume University), Practical trainer of National Hospital Organization in Kyushu Block, etc.

Current and Past Project
  • Through semi-structural interviews with bereaved parents who lost their child, revealing needs of grief care for the parents and creating grief care programs.
  • Action research to seek the possibility of children’s hospice in Japan: revealing the needs from the viewpoint of people concerned. However, not only asking them, but also cooperating with ordinary citizens and professionals in other realms (psychology, education, welfare, art and music etc.) in order to cover every dimension as a total palliative care and create places for children with intractable disease or poor prognoses.
