Outline Activities

Our main research is investigations on biochemical and genetic engineering aspects of extremophiles, the functional and structural analyses of extremozymes, and their industrial applications.

Research

Research Interests

  • Molecular adaptation mechanisms of extremophiles to extreme environments for their growth such as extremely high and low temperatures by use of biochemical, genome infromatic and structural analyses.

Current and Past Project

  • This is a porject to investigate NAD(P)-de novo synthesis system in hyperthermophilic archaea by the biochemical and structural analyses of the related enzymes based on the gene information.
  • This is a research project for the developement of novel screening and analytical methods to obtain mirobial gene sources from soils without cultivation.

My educational activities are the lectures entitled "Outline of Molecular Biology"and "Basic　Biology", 　"Microbial gene resources", " Seminor of Microbial gene resources", " Special research on Microbial gene resources Ⅰand Ⅱ" for graduate course students and " Research on Microbial gene resources" for doctor course students.
