1. From the use of function words to investigate the characteristics of Zeng Gong’s ancient Chinese prose ——Comparison with Ouyang Xiu's literary style

Abstract
So far, there are few researches on the characteristics of Zeng Gong's articles. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to give specific explanations on the characteristics of Zeng Gong's articles.
Zeng Gong's articles are often described as "feminine". Tracing back to its source, In the Qing dynasty Yao Nai compared Zeng Gong's articles with Ouyang Xiu's and described them as "feminine". Therefore, there must be some similarities between Zeng Gong's article and Ouyang Xiu's. Therefore, when examining the characteristics of Zeng Gong's articles, it is crucial to examine the similarities between Zeng Gong's articles and Ouyang Xiu's articles.
This paper points out that the similarities between Zeng Gong's and Ouyang Xiu's articles are exactly the use of function words in their articles. Since function words are not directly related to context, it can be said that, to some extent, the author's personality can be seen from the use of function words. Through the investigation in this paper, it is proved that Zeng Gong's use of function words is very similar to Ouyang Xiu's.That is to say, Zeng Gong and Ouyang Xiu's use of function words is similar to each other, so both of their articles have been called "feminine".The reason why Zeng Gong's articles are similar to Ouyang Xiu's is that when he was young, Zeng Gong began to read Ouyang Xiu's articles so well that he could recite almost every one of them. Zeng Gong unconsciously learned how to use Ouyang Xiu's function words and applied them to his creation.

2. The controversy between Zhu Bia and Zhu Xi over Fan Zhongyan’s Fan gong shendao bei ming as illustrated in the newly discovered letters by Ouyang Xiu.

Without permission, Fan Chunren, Fan Zhongyan’s son, removed a part of the inscription from Fan gong shendao bei ming, which was created for Fan Zhongyan by Ouyang Xiu. Later, Zhu Bia and Zhu Xi had a heated disagreement over this incident.
In the course of their disagreement, they referred to certain letters from among the 96 newly discovered letters by Ouyang Xiu that I had reported on in 2011.
At first, when the letters Zhang Xu tie and Su Ming tie were mentioned, I was still unaware. Recent study, however, has established that these were the newly discovered letter nos. 57, 85, and 86.
