Material strength, Fracture mechanics
Outline Activities
The effect of hydrogen on steels and organic polymers used for hydrogen energy system is studied. The strength and reliability of these materials are investigated in terms of experiment and simulation.
Specific themes are shown below:
(1) Study on surface coating with a high resistance to hydrogen entry for steels
(2) Development of a high-performance sensing material in high-pressure hydrogen gas
(3) Study on fatigue crack growth behavior of rubbers
(4) Study on cyclic stress and strain response of rubbers
