12. Tetsushi Murao, The Long-run Phillips Curve in the Dual Economy with Incomplete Insurance Markets, Society for Computational Economics, CEF2013, 2013.07, [URL], This paper studies the shape of long-run phillips curve (LRPC) in less developed countries (LDCs). For this purpose, we incorporate informal sector into the monetary incomplete insurance markets model of Imrohoroglu (1992) and a sectoral choice of the unemployed a la Acemoglu and Shimer (2000). The model is solved numerically, and we find that the model can replicate the empirically observed (1) negative long-run relationship between inflation and unemployment rate and (2) positive relationship between inflation rate and employment share of the informal sector. In this model, non-vertical LRPC exists as a consequence of the buffer role of informal labor market against insurance market incompleteness. Moreover, contrary to the common notion, no welfare trade off exists on the downward LRPC in our model..
