32. 戸田 裕之, バトレス・ラファエル, 桑水流理, 小林正和, リバース4D材料エンジニアリング:その構想と最近の展開, 軽金属, 64, 11, 518-524, 2014.11, 現在、材料工学、X線光学、計算力学、情報工学の知見を結集した新しい技術体系:リバース4D材料エンジニアリング(R4ME)の提案と創成に関する研究を科研費(基盤研究S)のテーマとして推進している。現在の材料開発は、「材料設計→解析・評価→実材料創出」という時系列で進められているが、R4MEでは、これと逆方向のアプローチにより、迅速かつ高精度に高性能材料を開発するパラダイムチェンジを目指している。現実の材料のマルチスケール3D構造は、その複雑さ故、現在の科学では理論的取り扱いはおろか、そのパターン化さえ困難である。R4MEでは、微視形態を忠実に取り込む高精度4Dイメージベースシミュレーションにより、仮想的にミクロ構造を最適化する。さらに、複雑な3D/4D微視形態を従来の材料設計技術に反映できる程度に粗視化表現することで、ものづくりに展開可能な実用組織制御技術を確立することを目指している。本報は、その中間成果まとめとして著したものである。.

)観察を四次元(4D)観察(時間発展挙動の3D連続観察)に展開でき,材料内部の局所的な力学量を定量化できるようになった。本論文では,X線トモグラフィを用いて,析出状態の異なる7075合金のその場破壊試験を行い,その結果,き裂先端のひずみ分布は,弾塑性破壊力学の規定するものとは大きく異なり,斜め上方および下方の二方向のせん断帯内に大きなひずみが局在化することがわかった。この局在化の程度は,時効状態など従来知られている要因だけでなく,多結晶組織や結晶方位に大きく影響され,負荷の増加とともに局在化の程度が顕著になること,またせん断帯内で相当塑性ひずみに支配される粒子の損傷が生じ,破壊力学が規定する損傷域の10倍以上遠方まで粒子の損傷が生じることを明らかにした。.

Kobayashi, Cavitation during high-temperature deformation in Al-Mg alloys, Acta Materialia, 10.1016/j.actamat.2013.01.012, 61, 7, 2403-2413, 2013.04, 過飽和な水素がアルミニウム内に分子状水素として排出され、ポアとして知られるミク ロ欠陥が生成されることに着目した。これらが常温の変形・破壊を支配することは、我々の最近の研究によって明らかにされている。従来、高 温での変形や加工では、粒界三重点でポアが発生して損傷に至るとされている。この研究では、高温変形の3D/4Dその場観察を行い、破壊起点を特定した。その結果、高温での変形や加工では、過飽和 な水素に起因する内在ポアの成長と従来の損傷機構(粒界三重点などでのポア発生)が競合し、前者が破壊を規定することが示された。.

Kobayashi, Spatial resolution of synchrotron x-ray microtomography in high energy range: Effect of x-ray energy and sample-to-detector distance, Applied Physics Letters, 10.1063/1.4773239, 101, 26, 261901, 2012.12, これまで、鉄鋼材料のX線 による3D/4Dイメージングは、空間分解能が理論分解能より1~2桁低く、実用にはならなかった。この研究では、大型放射光施設SPring-8の活用と様々な撮像条件の最適化により、鉄鋼でもほぼ理論分解能での撮像が可能に なった。これは、主にはこれまで知られていなかったX線前方散乱による大きな悪影響を避けることで達成された。この研究の成果により、鉄鋼材料でも、熱処理や加工時の組織変化、変形・破壊・疲労破壊などの3D/4Dその場観察やその解析が可能になった。.
