15. Attempts to Reduce VR Sickness during Game Video Viewing by Adding a Stationary Point
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a stationary point on video games to reduce virtual reality (VR) sickness caused by horizontal rotation. In experiment 1, we created video game movies that contained one of 0 °, 15 ° and 45 ° horizontal rotations and obtained the participants’ gaze data watching the movies. We also measured subjective evaluation of motion sickness. In experiment 2, we placed a stationary point at the area where participants gave intensive gaze in the rotation condition that obtained the highest motion sickness score. As a result, we found that the stationary point could suppress VR sickness caused by horizontal rotation..
