WANG JINGYUN, Hong-Fa Ho, Yuichi Ono, Enhancing personalized feedback system by visual biometric data analysis, 2016.07, This paper propose to develop and evaluate a learning support system which can provide personalized feedbacks for helping learners to improve their learning ability. To support the analysis of learners’ cognitive processes during learning activities, this system will collect not only their learning logs and questionnaires’ responses, but also their visual biometric data (eye-movement data). Eye-tracking systems with not only eye safety advance but also precision advance will be used in this research. By analyzing all the collected data, the system will identify learners’ characteristics and provide real-time feedbacks in response to their characteristics..

The processing of seeking hidden relations or concepts in “cache-cache comparison” is intended to encourage learners to actively locate new knowledge in their knowledge framework and check the logical consistency of their ideas for clearing up misunderstandings. This active engagement is also expected to prevent a) the emergence of cognitive overload and b) the decreasing of the curiosity and willingness to explore as in the meaning reception learning environment. .

study of the relationship between learning styles and learning performances in a language
learning support system. An analysis on 198 valid questionnaires, collected from Chinese-native
undergraduate students in responds to a Mandarin translation of Felder- Silverman Index of
Learning Styles, are discussed. The discussion includes internal reliability, inter-scale correlation
and construct validity. In the terms of construct validity, the trends of learning style preferences
with respect to gender and the field of study are investigated. .

The learner data involve 60 participants’ attitude/motivation rankings before and after studying target grammar contents with the support of the system. Significantly improvement in attitude and motivation was suggested by the analysis. Furthermore, considering learning attitude and motivation as not only conditions but also outcomes for learning, we analyze the relations among learning attitude, motivation, perceptions and achievement..

6. 王 静芸, 田畑 義之, 緒方 広明, 電子教科書ユーザーのための知識構造可視化システム,, 日本教育工学会研究会, 2016.11, 有意味学習を支援するために、学習者の電子教科書の利用履歴などの様々な情報を統合し、オントロジー技術を用いて学習者の知識の枠組みをマップ構造で表示することを提案した。さらに、自動的にオントロジーを操作できる知識構造可視化システムVSSEを開発している。VSSEを用いて, 任意の電子教材の任意の範囲の知識を可視化することができる。また、電子教科書に含まれる知識ポイントの場所と関連知識を目次から探すこともできる。もう一つの機能は、電子教科書システムの利用履歴を使って学習者が自分の知識の枠組みを可視化することである。.
