Outline Activities
My research activity has been focused on the statistical physics of Softmatter. A group of materials called “Softmatter” is a representative example, in which the concept of the hierarchy plays a crucial role. Since it also provides a good approaching to the biological problems from the standpoint of physics. I have investigated the biologically inspired problem, too. The main scientific achievements so far can be categorized as follows;
1) Physics of confined polymers
2) Nonequilibrium dynamics of single polymers: nano-rheology
3) Fluctuation and rensponse in out-of-equilibrium system
4) Higher-order structural transition in DNA
5) Physics of chromatin and nucleosome
