Since 2001, he has conducted clinical and genetic research on early gastrointestinal cancers and inflammatory bowel diseases using fluoroscopy, endoscopy and ultrasonography. As a Kyushu Universtiy Hospital staff, he has shared his knowledge and experiences on gastrointesinal diseases with many residents, fellows, and medical students. Since 2017, he has been a member of Telemedicine Development Center of Asia (TEMDEC), where he provides telemedicine education and domestic hands-on training, focusing on gastrointestinal endoscopy. His life work is to eliminate healthcare disparities in the world.

Current and Past Project

• We clarify the usefulness of remote medical education for the improvement of early colorectal cancer detection.
• We investigate the effect of adrenomedullin to the patients with refractory Crohn's disease
• We collect the clinical data of early colonic cancer and discuss the extended indication of endoscopic treatment for colonic neoplasia.
• We collect the clinical data of colonic NET in Japan.
• We investigate the effect of adrenomedullin to the patients with refractory ulcerative colitis.
