My research is focused on lipid peroxidation (LPO), which generates numerous oxidized lipids and is reportedly involved with biological reactions (e.g., inflammation) which relate to the onset of various diseases—in particular, improving the oxidized lipids purification by using preparative HPLC and mass spectrometry techniques. While oxidized lipids are generally considered negative, some evidence suggests that some oxidized lipids are potentially necessary for lipid homeostasis (e.g., promote anti-inflammatory responses). Their precise role has still been controversial. It might relate to various factors (e.g., oxidized structure, mechanism). Hence, my research aims to elucidate a comprehensive understanding of oxidized lipids involved in diseases and propose candidate compounds for novel therapeutic strategies.
