(1)地質温度差圧力差計の確立と適用  変成反応の平衡定数の温度圧力依存性を用いた地質温度差圧力差計を考案し,従来温度圧力条件の決まらなかった鉱物組み合わせに対して,既知の温度圧力からの差を求めようとしている。 (2)変成鉱物の3次元的形態の解明  変成鉱物の非対称組織は岩石中の応力を推定するのに有効である。CT画像を使った3次元形態,相平衡岩石学によって,非対称組織の成因を明らかにしようとしている。 (3)高温変成岩の相平衡  泥質岩起源の変成岩は花崗岩の最低溶融点より高温では,部分溶融していると考えられるが,天然の岩石には明瞭な溶融現象を示さないものもある。また,AFM 近似で不安定な鉱物組み合わせが出現することもある。これらの現象を単純化された系に与える他の元素の影響を考慮することによって説明しようとしている。 (4)変成岩の温度圧力経路  地殻内部にあった変成岩が現在地表で観察されるという事実は,地殻の物質が循環していることによる。変成岩が記録している反応組織,鉱物の組成累帯などのデータから,温度,圧力の時間変化を読みとることによって,地殻内部がどのように循環しているかを明らかにしようと試みている。 (5)低圧変成帯の変成反応  対の変成帯の概念が提案されて久しいが,高圧変成帯に比べ対の低圧変成帯の研究はまだ十分に進んでいない。鉱物出現消滅,造岩鉱物の記載のデータを蓄積し,変成反応を明らかにしようとしている。
