本研究の目的は、ポストコロナ時代に要求される質の保証・向上が実現できるシステマチックな遠隔授業を学習者に提供するために、その授業モデルを探求し構築するものである。具体的には、異文化理解授業を例として取り上げ、国境という物理的制限を越え、海外のパートナー大学と協力し合いつつ、仮想現実（VR）を活用するための授業設計を行い、次世代の新しい授業モデルの構築を目指す。本研究により、新しい時代の要請に応えた大学教育の「新たな在り方」に向けて、教育の質を保証・向上できる遠隔教育や異文化理解教育の一助としたく、諸事情で海外留学が困難な学習者への国際人を育てる教育の機会均等を促進する。
