    高分子被覆した磁気ナノ粒子の表面に薬剤等を結合した磁気マーカーは,従来の光学マーカーや放射性同位体マーカーにはない種々の新機能性を有している。この機能を利用して,体内の疾患部に効率的に集積させた磁気マーカーを体表面から検出する磁気ナノ粒子バイオイメージングは,安全かつ高精度に体内医療診断を可能とする新しい医療技術としてその開発が期待されている。本研究では,申請者がこれまで開発してきた磁気ナノ粒子の磁気特性評価法や高感度検出法を発展・高性能化する。これにより,従来手法にはない高感度・高分解能・高い定量性を兼ね備えた磁気ナノ粒子バイオイメージングシステムを開発するとともに,イメージング実験を通して本手法の有効性を実証することを目的としている。

    乳癌等のリンパ節転移を調べる際に行われるセンチネルリンパ節生検において,現在主に行われている放射性物質を用いたRI法に替わる「磁気ナノ粒子による安全かつ簡便なセンチネルリンパ節イメージングシステムの開発」を行う。これまでに申請者らが開発してきた「磁気ナノ粒子の非線形効果による高調波信号の特性評価法」や,これを基に開発した「高調波信号を用いた高感度磁気ナノ粒子検出システムおよびイメージング手法」を統合させ,センチネルリンパ節イメージングに適した高感度で安定な計測システムを開発すると共に本イメージングシステムの有用性・信頼性を確立する。
