    We consider the problem of determining the unknown boundary values of a solution of an elliptic equation outside a bounded open set B from the knowledge of the values of this solution on a boundary of an arbitrary Lipschitz bounded domain surrounding B. We obtain for this inverse problem Lipschitz stability for an admissible class of unknown boundary functions. Our analysis applies as well to an interior problem. We also give an extension to the parabolic case.

    We establish Hölder stability of an inverse hyperbolic obstacle problem. Mainly, we study the problem of reconstructing an unknown function defined on the boundary of the obstacle from two measurements taken on the boundary of a domain surrounding the obstacle.

    We prove global Lipschitz stability for an inverse source problem of a system of wave equations on a Lorentzian manifold. The method used in this paper is widely known as the Bukhgeim–Klibanov method. However, the conventional method is not sufficient for the application to the hyperbolic partial differential equation with time-dependent coefficients to obtain the Lipschitz stability, and further innovations are needed. In this paper, we present an improved global Carleman estimate and an energy estimate to obtain the Lipschitz stability.

    <jats:p xml:lang="fr">&lt;p style='text-indent:20px;'&gt;For a symmetric hyperbolic system of the first order, we prove a Carleman estimate under some positivity condition concerning the coefficient matrices. Next, applying the Carleman estimate, we prove an observability &lt;inline-formula&gt;&lt;tex-math id="M1"&gt;\begin{document}$ L^2 $\end{document}&lt;/tex-math&gt;&lt;/inline-formula&gt;-estimate for initial values by boundary data.&lt;/p&gt;</jats:p>

    The one-dimensional Saint-Venant equation describes unsteady water flow in channels and is derived from the one-dimensional Euler equation by imposing several physical assumptions. In this paper, we consider the linearized and simplified equation in the one-dimensional case featuring a mixed derivative term and prove the global Lipschitz stability of the inverse source problem via the global Carleman estimate.

    本研究では、検知技術の革新のための逆問題理論を構築し、理論的再構成法に裏打ちされた数値解析手法を開発することで、非破壊検査や医療画像や環境問題のような現実の問題へと応用する。具体的には、inverse source problemやinverse obstacle problemに関する以下の3つの研究課題に取り組む。
    研究課題A:弾性構造物の欠陥の検出
    研究課題B:汚染物質の発生源(移動する場合も含む)の位置の検出
    研究課題C:人体内部の電気・機械特性異常部位の検出
    課題解決のために、研究代表者を中心とする日本側研究者がフランスとオーストリアの3つの海外研究機関に滞在し、共同研究を行う。

    He studied an inverse problem for a system of hyperbolic partial differential equations written in terms of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on a Lorentzian manifold. He established a weighted energy estimate, the Carleman estimate, for this system and proved a global Lipschitz stability when the observation data is taken on a part of the boundary of the Lorentzian manifold. Furthermore, he proved a global Lipschitz stability for an inverse source problem of determining the source term of a one-dimensional wave equation with an inverse square potential.

    時間依存する係数をもつ双曲型偏微分方程式について,波源項や方程式の係数を決定する逆問題,及び解の局所的な一意性を保証する一意接続性定理に関して完全な解決が待たれている.そこで本研究では曲がった時空間を記述するローレンツ多様体上での波動方程式に対し微分幾何学を取り入れた解析手法を用いることで,これらの課題に対し統一的なアプローチを用い一意性及び安定性を証明する.
