主に普段の生活では見えないような、ネットワークの裏側の技術に関する研究を行っています。近年はクラウドという言葉が一般的なものとなり、様々なデータがクラウドに集まるようになってきました。そうなると、大量のデータが集中してクラウドに送られてくるため、ネットワークがパンクしてしまいます。そんな事態を回避するために、クラウドに到達する前に、もっと手前のネットワーク内に事前処理をするためのエッジサーバを置いて、データ量を軽減してクラウドに送るというエッジコンピューティングが生まれました。しかし、急速に普及しているとはいえ、まだまだ発展途上の技術なため情報の保護に関して甘いところが多々あります。そこで、エッジコンピューティング環境において意図しない場所へデータが送られないように制御するための情報保護制御機構の開発を行っています。また、データ情報保護に関連して、安全に利用可能なパーソナルデータ流通基盤の研究を行っています。これは、企業間がデータの連携をする際に、意図せずに顧客のパーソナルデータが紛れ込んでしまう危険があります。そのため、安心できずに企業間の連携が進まないなどの事例があり、安心にデータの連携ができるようなデータ流通基盤を開発しています。これらの研究に加えて、地域公共交通の支援に関する研究を行っています。地域公共交通は基本的に人材不足や財源不足に悩んでいます。この問題を少しでも軽減するために、ICT技術を使って支援をすることでこれらの問題を解決しようとしています。

    This study verifies the effects of public data provided on the Internet by route searching among the regional public transportation services provided by municipalities. Fundamental regional public transportation data were collected for general transit feed specification. These data standard was developed by a public agency in the United States of America in conjunction with Google. The dataset was formulated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan. Google Maps and other major domestic route-search content providers were used to build the data. Moreover, we have been developing a practical service-management support system for regional public transportation provided by municipalities. This system has two applications: ASHIYA and SHINGU. ASHIYA can be used for conducting simple surveys for passengers inside public transportation, whereas SHINGU records the number of passengers getting on/off a vehicle during consecutive national vacations. We analyzed their effects on regional public transportation using the data measured and developed using SHINGU and the data obtained using the community bus “Marinkusu” in Shingu town, Kasuya-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.

    In this paper, we propose a data protection mechanism for live migration process. The proposed data protection mechanism verifies whether it is permitted to copy the data of from the migration source application to the migration destination based on the contents of the regulations concerning the use of the data issued by the organization and the country at the time of during the live migration procedures. This mechanism performs live migration only when copying is permitted. By applying this mechanism, it is possible to use appropriate data while protecting privacy during the live migration process. Detailed explanation and implementation evaluation of the data protection mechanism were carried out. As a result, we observed that the mechanism did not exhibit adverse effects on the live migration process.

    When an undesirable situation occurs in a hybrid cloud computing environment, vital issues arise when searching for IaaS cloud services that best-match to the user's requirements. This includes the different descriptions/naming of IaaS cloud services, i.e., CPU, memory, and others, adapted by different companies making it difficult and ambiguous to select the best-match cloud services. Initially, we considered utilizing ontology technology and typical clustering methods to narrow down the selection process. In this paper, we proposed an improved ontology clustering scheme and describe the methodology. Preliminary experiments shows promising results showing a fair gathering of related elements in the cluster and the speedup of processing depicting a viable resiliency support for hybrid cloud.

    Hybrid cloud computing paradigm is gaining wide acceptance to multi-faceted IT organizations to meet the users' different sets of requirements for different types of applications. However, this can also create an array of issues, such as complex architectures, security, service provisioning in cases of resources failures/disaster, etc. To mitigate the impact and minimize trade-offs, we proposed an ontology-based framework to provide support for a resiliency mechanism in the hybrid cloud. We adopted ontology technology to provide a unified representations of cloud service names to facilitate the discovery and selection of the best-match cloud service in cases of failures. As types of cloud services evolve over time, we adopted ontology clustering to speed up the search process. Preliminary experiment results provided promising results.

    This paper investigates into IaaS service provisioning in hybrid cloud which comprises private and public clouds. It proposes a hybrid cloud framework in order to improve reliability and availability of IaaS services by taking into account alternative services which are available through public clouds. However, provisioning of alternative services in hybrid cloud involves complex processing, intelligent decision making and reliability and consistency issues. In the proposed framework, we develop an agent-based system using cloud ontology in order to identify and rank alternative cloud services which users can acquire in the event of failures or unavailability of desired services. The proposed framework also exploits transactional techniques in order to ensure the reliability and consistency of the service acquisition process. The proposed framework is evaluated through various experiments which show that it improves service availability and reliability in hybrid cloud.

    The cloud computing paradigm with its pay-as-youuse business model is envisioned to provide immense benefits and promising returns. Hybrid cloud computing deployment model offers a viable solution of in-house private cloud with limited or unavailable resources on hand to meet the application requirements or at runtime. However, due to the large-scale, widely distributed and complexity of the underlying infrastructure, the cloud system is vulnerable to failures which are of great concern to users which may jeopardize the reliability and availability of cloud services. This paper describes our work-in-progress on using ontology and agents to provide support to achieve resiliency in hybrid cloud computing. Preliminary experimental evaluation provided promising results and insights on some important issues for future research directions.

    Hybrid cloud has been considered a viable option to address the unavailability and/or limited resources of an in-house private cloud as per user's requirements or at runtime. The approach is poised to highly benefit the user in terms of procuring the required resources and/or the time element. With many companies offering different features of public cloud services, even if such service is of the same type, the quest to discover and select the suitable public cloud service provider is of utmost importance. This paper proposed an agent-based support system to discover the most suitable public cloud service provider based on the user's requirements. Agents and ontologies were used to implement the proposed model. Verification test results demonstrates the viability and usefulness of the system.

    Building an ontology resource network using grid computing is one method to exploit the sparsely distributed ontology resources. Grid computing technology provides merit on security issues and ease of controlling the resources. However, problems on resource discovery and the effectiveness in managing and provisioning the various scattered grid resources exist. We addressed these problems with the construction of a semantic grid service which automatically provides the optimal required grid resources, and the adaption of the notion of Virtual Organization (VO). The semantic grid service consists of various VOs, and the sub-ontology extraction and tailoring application was used as a proof-of-concept. The processing of the application was analyzed in order to verify the workability of the system.

    Sub-ontology extraction provides a solution in dealing with large ontology. As time progresses, new discoveries and new ontology emerges making the ontology data much larger. Updating the sub-extracted ontology becomes a crucial task. Updating extracted sub-ontology can be done by performing the whole extraction process repeatedly from the base ontology. In contrast, our proposed approach is to develop an incremental update mechanism which can minimize the large communication and processing overhead in the former method. In this paper, we construct and describe a grid application service framework for updating extracted sub-ontology using the incremental update mechanism.     Whereas, the semantic grid is considered as the uniting concept of semantic web and grid computing, and the ontology technology provide an efficient data retrieval methodology in widely distributed semantic grid resources over the Internet. As the number of semantic grid resources increase, e.g., ontology servers, the amount of data increases and managing job workflows is becoming increasingly complex. This paper proposed a validation framework for sub-ontology extraction workflows in our proposed semantic grid computing environment. We considered two ontology optimization schemes and design its workflow models using Petri Net. The workflow for each model is described and validated. Preliminary results justify the feasibilities of our proposed validation framework of the aforementioned models which can be used as building blocks to model large and efficient sub-ontology extraction workflows in a semantic grid.

The main work on sub-ontology derivation was initially proposed by Wouters [1] and later extended by Flahive [2], where they proposed a number of sub-ontology extraction methods. These sub-ontology extraction methods were called sub-ontology optimization schemes. In this paper, we develop a visual view for users to adopt sub-ontology extraction methods [1,2], with a particular aim of providing users a front-end tool to perform a particular sub-ontology extraction. A full implementation and evaluation of the system are an on-going process.

    エッジで実行される仮想マシンやコンテナは,内包するアプリケーションやデータの規約や規制については全く考慮してしない.そこで,配置先・移動先が利用許諾条件や組織の規約,国の法規制に違反している場合は,配置・移動をできなくするデータ保護機構を研究開発してきた.しかし,悪意のある攻撃者がこのデータ保護機構を攻撃してきた場合は,データ保護機構の改ざんや無効化など攻撃に対して無防備であるため,攻撃者から守るための仕組みが必要である.そこで,エッジ内のアプリケーションが内包する利用許諾条件や組織の規約,国の法規制を遵守しかつ悪意を持った攻撃に対して堅牢なエッジの自動制御の仕組みを研究開発する.
