(教育活動) 主に基幹教育に携わり、地球と宇宙の科学、基幹教育セミナー、課題協学の授業を担当している。またアクティブ・ラーニング型科目の開発にも取り組んでいる。 (研究活動) 素粒子・原子核物理に基づく宇宙物理の理論研究を進めている。特に、大質量星の重力崩壊に伴う超新星爆発やブラックホール形成から放出されるニュートリノに関する研究、超新星・中性子星内部での高密度な原子核物質に関する研究などを行っている。
