7. 岡野 潔, A Study of Buddhist Avadānamālās in Nepal: About Śaṅkarasvāmin's Devātiśayastotra, and Some Avadānamālās Related to Jayamuni, 印度学仏教学研究, 69, 3, (165)-(173), 2021.03, –––-アブストラクト：　ネパール撰述の梵文 avadānamālā 文献、Subhāṣitamahāratnāvadānamālā （略号 SMRAM）の第20章 Mālikāvadāna（略号 MA）の中に、Śaṅkarasvāmin 作の Devātiśayastotra （略号 DS）のテクストが、連続的にそのままの順序で借用されていることがわかった。MA の第148〜167詩節において、その DS の全部で21詩節から成るテクストのうちの、最後の第21詩節を除く第1〜20詩節が利用されている。このように DS の梵文詩節を借用したテクストが MA の中に見つかったことは、DS の Michael Hahn (2000) 校訂本の改善に役立つものである。ただし MA における DS の梵文詩節の借用においては、局所的に意図的な文の変更（改竄）が見られるので、DS の再校定にあたってその点に注意が必要である。 なお SMRAM の第21章 Pāñcālarājāvadāna の中には Ṣaḍgatikārikā の第1〜104偈が借用されている。このような、SMRAM の第20章と第21章という連続する章の中にアヴァダーナとは全く異質な古いテクストをほぼ丸ごと組み込む編集・製作の仕方は、それらの章の作者がインドの古い梵語の仏教文学作品のネパールにおける保存と普及、教育的な活用に関心があったらしいことを示している。発表者は SMRAM やそれに類する梵文説話集が編集された時代と場所を、17世紀中頃のネパールの Patan と推測する。SMRAM の写本を含めて、ネパール撰述のavadānamālā の諸文献において最も信頼できる梵文の諸写本を筆写した者は Jayamuni という Vajrācārya であるが、この筆写師は、ネパールが17世紀に「本格的な紙写本の時代」を迎えた時期において、梵語仏教文学のジャンルにおいて幾つもの重要な紙写本を作成しつつ、「古い仏教説話文学の復興と写本伝承の確立」を推し進めた中心人物であり、「Avadānaśataka を再話する avadānamālā 諸文献」と「インドの梵文仏伝を再話する avadānamālā 諸文献」の両方のジャンルの成立にも恐らく密接に関わった、紙写本に依る avadānamālā 諸文献の成立運動を解明するための鍵となる人物であると考えられる。
