Outline Activities
 Research activities: Researches on the physical, chemical and mechanical properries of soil concerned with the agricultural land consolidation, the agricultural land conservation and the structures such as a fill dam, reclamation dike, farm road, irrigation canal, drainage one are being done. Recent main research subject is as the following. (1) Physical and chemical properties of the clay, (2) The strength, deformation characteristics of clay and aging, (3) The behavior analysis of embankment structure on soft ground by finite element method, (4) Bearing capacity analysis of soft ground by finite element method, (5) Residual settlement of the reclamation dike on soft ground and that method of predicting it,(6)Investigations of agricultural land disaster prevention, agricultural land conservation and sea coast conservation, (7) Mechanism, prediction and control(management) of ground subsidence in lowland.

 Education activities: It takes charge of the lecture, practice subject of the soil science and soil engineering fields, and the guidance of the thesis for the master's degree and the guidance assistance of the doctoral thesis are being done together in the graduate school education.
 In the college education, it takes charge of the structural mechanics as a special foundation subject and the lecture, experiment subject of the soil science and soil engineering fields, and the guidance of the graduation thesis is being done together.
