Current and Past Project
  • Martian Moons eXploration Mission: JAXA's flagship mission to travel to Mars and survey the red planet’s two moons; Phobos and Deimos. The spacecraft will explore both moons and collect a sample from one of the moons to bring back to Earth. I studied the dynamics and control of quasi-satellite orbits under the contract with CNES.
  • DESTINY (Demonstration and Experiment of Space Technology for INterplanetary voYage), JAXA's low-cost planetary mission, to demonstrate interplanetary orbit transfer techniques (e.g. electric orbit raising and lunar swingbys) and technologies (i.e. new solar arrays). I studied multiple Sun-perturbed lunar swingby orbit transfer scheme, the achievable escape energy permits opportunity for the spacecraft to encounter asteroids.
  • PROCYON, The first deep-space small probe in the world! Jointly developed by JAXA and U-Tokyo and launched in 2014. The mission plan was to utilize electric propulsion and Earth gravity assist (EDVEGA) to reach an asteroid. I am in charge of search of reachable asteroids.
