Managing the research, education and clinical activities of academic and clinical orthodontic field in the Section of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Kyushu University Faculty of Dental Science.

The basic and clinical research projects are as follows:
1. Molecular biology in maxillofacial, oral and dental development
2. Molecular mechanobiology in cartilage and bone cells
3. Molecular mechanisms of alteration in tissue structure and physiological function during orthodontic tooth movement
4. Integrated analyses of interaction between function and morphology in maxillofacial and oral organs
5. Advanced orthodontics for craniofacial anomalies and jaw deformities
6. Three-dimensional and/or genetic analyses for maxillofacial morphology, growth and development
7. Development of orthodontic appliances and their performance assessment
