Learning Analytics, Educational Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence in Education
(1) Learning Analytics (LA)
Building a smart learning environment named GOAL system that can promote students' self-directed learning using Learning Analytics. The system automatically collects students' learning log data from e-book materials and physical activity data such as sleep and steps taken from wearable devices, visualizes students' activity status, supports personal plans, and provides feedback through AI and dashboards.
(2) Educational Data Mining (EDM)
Measuring and improving self-regulated learning skills from learning behavior data using Educational Data Mining.
(3) Artificial Intelligence for Education (AIED)
Research and Development on education-specific LLM agents.
Starting the research on a multimodal-AI-powered feedback engine based on learning behavior, eye-tracking, skin potential, and electroencephalogram activity data.
Professional and Outreach Activities
Working as Co-Chair in international organizations such as APSCE LAEDM SIG, and EDE SIG1.
Working as PC Member of the international conferences organized by the Global Chinese Society for Computers in Education(GCSCE) from 2022, the international conferences organized by the Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education (APSCE) from 2022, and the international conferences organized by the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR) from 2023.
Worked as Chair for the international LA@ICCE2021 workshop, LA@ICCE2022 workshop, and Data Challenge@LAK22 workshop.
