Profile
地球超深部（地下660 km以上）における窒素の貯蔵や輸送といった振る舞いを、高圧実験や質量分析をはじめとした様々な手法を駆使して解明する研究に従事しています。窒素は地球大気の約8割を占め、生体を構成する重要な元素です。しかしながら、私達が住んでいる地上を含む地球表層に比べると、地下深くに存在する窒素は未だ良く分かっていません。本領域の研究が進めば、窒素の理解を地球全体規模にまで広げることができます。さらに、「大気はどのようにしてできたのか？」や「生命はどのようにして誕生したのか？」といった、地球の成り立ちに関する理解にも大きく貢献できます。
