1.There are three areas of research activities.
(1)A study from the political ecomony view point on the transformation of the contemporary Japanese agricultural and food policies, mainly rice and paddy farming policies.
(2)A study based on field survey on reginal agricultural structures, especially in the Kyushu region.
(3)A empirical study on the grain farm structures, agricultural policies, farmers cooperatives, and agribusiness in the United States.
(4)A political economy study on the contemporary international agro-food relations (food regime) , diets, and world agriculture.

2.Educational activities
I have been teaching such classes as follows, from view points of; the new structural features of capitalist society; transformation of the farming structure ; development of agribusiness activities within the agro-food industries.

(2) Graduate class: Advanced Food, Agricultural, and Rural Policies
