KGaA, Weinheim, 10.1002/cplu.201600356, 82, 1010-1014, 2017.07, 4つのアズレンが縮環したテトラセンジイミドの合成に成功し、その興味深い物性を明らかにした。π共役系の効果的な拡張と分子内電荷移動によって末端が１４００ nmにまで及ぶ近赤外吸収、950 nmにおいて大きな2光子吸収断面積（σ（2） = 2140 GM）を示した。この化合物の魅力的な電子特性として、4つの可逆還元プロセスとn型半導性も確認された。.
