finite element method., 第4回MECHANICAL FINDER ユーザー研究会 , 2013.08, Objective: This retrospective study aims to evaluate the orthodontic mini-implants that were applied to patients and presented failure or succeed, in order to investigate the mechanical factors that have an impact on the survival of mini-implants. Materials and methods: We applied a unique approach to use finite element method in the analysis of the mini'implanLs. 22 succeeded implants and 6 failed implants were included in the study. TWo CTLdatasets were acquired for every patient, the first is before the insertion of mini-implant and the second one with the mini-implant in place. The elements around the mini-implant in the second CTLdata set cannot be used to acquire the elastic modulus value, because of the distortion caused by the metal of mini-implant. Therefore, we used the first data set to get the elastic modulus, and the mini'implant was later transferred to the model by using 3D alignment..
