6. TAKENOUCHI, Kazuki, SONODA, Keiji, Approach to Education of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerance in University and College of Technology, The 4th International Conference on Design Engineering and Science, 2017.09, An attempt to include geometrical dimensioning and tolerance in design education in university and college of technology was reported in this paper, standard which are the core of geometrical product specifications inevitably required in the age of globalization of industry. Based on the difference in verification of deviation in size and geometry, utilization of 3D interference check in CAD were proposed to illustrate various geometrical deviations. Some concrete examples were presented..
7. SONODA, Keiji, HIRAI, Hidenori, SONODA, Maki, TAKENOUCHI, Kazuki, Design and Manufacture of Eccentric Planetary Gear Drive with Hydraulic Motor (Power Transmission Efficiency of Trial Gear Reducer), The 4th International Conference on Design Engineering and Science, 2017.09, An eccentric planetary gear drive with hydraulic motor was developed, specifications of which were determined based on its service conditions as required for a relatively small-sized crawler-type conveyer for agriculture-use. The gear train was originally designed by arranging gears, including an eccentric planetary gear, and manufactured. Measured efficiency of power transmission of the gear drive by use of the torque balance method under quasi-steady state was approx. 0.90, 0.91 at the highest, lubricated with hypoid gear oil, promising availability in practical use. Also shown in operating test was a relatively high efficiency of 0.87 in speed increasing conditions..
8. TAKENOUCHI, Kazuki, KAWATA, Shoko, SONODA, Keiji, KUBOTA, Yoshiaki, Considerations on Digital Modeling of Double Curved Surface (Generation of Digital Model of Circular-Arc Tooth-Trace Gear), The 4th International Conference on Design Engineering and Science, 2017.09, This study aims to find appropriate methods to generate a digital model of the conventional and the newly proposed circular-arc tooth-trace gears making use of recently developing digital modeling connected with digital manufacturing environment. Digital modeling of the new gear is carried out by two means: conventional methods on a feature-based 3-dimensioanl CAD and a direct generation of surface composed of coordinates of points on the tooth surface. In order to obtain required accuracy of the models, artificial techniques are required in some cases on mid-range 3D CAD. The accuracy of direct digital model is affected by the way to segment a quadrangular patch into two triangular patches arising from its double curved surface in special of the tooth face with convex tooth-trace..

13. Kazuki TAKENOUCHI, EVALUATION OF A PROFILE PARAMETER OF COW CARRIAGE WHEEL IN AN OLD JAPANESE PICTURE SCROLL BY HYPERELLIPSE FITTING, The 10th Asian Forum on Graphic Science, 2015.08, This study is to evaluate a characteristic value of a wheel profile of Japanese cow carriage painted in an old Japanese picture scroll “Heiji Monogatari Ekotoba”, profile that relates to how the shape of circle was recognized and represented on a two-dimensional plane. The characteristic values of the contour of each wheel in the picture are extracted as the power exponent n by fitting the contours to superellipse. The extraction of the shape parameter was carried out by use of the generalized reduced gradient method, which enabled to analyze wheels having a contour partly hidden or clipped by an edge of paper. The magnitude of the power exponent is over 2 of an exact ellipse, indicating wheels are drawn in a bellied shape compared to an exact ellipse, and the shape was characterized by the average value of n=2.2 of hyperellipse..
14. Keiji Sonoda, Kazuki TAKENOUCHI, Shigetaka IKETAKI, Digital Modeling and Manufacture of Planetary Gear Drive Using Circular-Arc Tooth-Trace Gears, the 6th International Conference on Manufacturing, Machine Design and Tribology, 2015.04, This study aims to clarify guiding principles and develop appropriate methods to design and manufacture the circular-arc tooth-trace gear making use of recently developing digital modeling and manufacturing. Digital model were made in two means: by use of fundamental methods of a feature-based 3D CAD and a modeling based on direct calculation of tooth surface coordinates. A planetary gear train consisting of circular-arc tooth-trace gears was modeled and manufactured by use of a powder bed and inkjet head 3D printing. Its appropriate function with smooth gearing shows a future capability of practical use of the circular-arc tooth-trace gear..

16. 園田 計二, 竹之内 和樹, 橋村 真治, Design and Manufacture of New Circular-Arc Tooth-Trace Gears, The 3rd International Conference on Design Engineering and Science, 2014.09, In general, the circular-arc tooth-trace (CATT) gears are considered as a special type of spiral bevel gears whose shaft-angle is zero. The CATT gears were manufactured using the conventional circular Face-mill cutters. In this paper, the new CATT gears have been developed using 3D-CAD/CAM; the tooth profile of pinion gears have the same involute curve at the any section through the face-width. Similarly the tooth profile of the CATT's rack is a straight line at the both sides of the face-width..
