I am involved in many international collaborative research projects:
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), US: As part of the Progress 100 program funded by Kyushu University (FY2016-17, 19-21) we research the electrochemical conversion of CO2 to useful products; host senior professors from UIUC to teach students; hosted a student from UIUC (Uzoma Nwabara) for a 3 week research trip; and have already published several joint papers.
University of Sheffield, UK: I was awarded a Royal Society of Chemistry Mobility Fellowship (FY2014-17) to travel to Sheffield for research; was made a Visiting Professor (FY2015-); in FY2018 we started the JSPS Bilateral Research Projects / Seminars with fund matching in the UK from the Royal Society; we hold regular bilateral workshops; host visiting students from Sheffield; and have publications arising from these research visits and collaborations.
Institute Charles Gerhart Montpellier (ICGM), France: In FY2017 we were invited to join the prestigious Horizon2020 CRESCENDO project as an affiliate member, to research Pt-free electrocatalysts; we hosted Professors to give seminars; and have published several papers in distinguished journals (Nature Communications, Nanoscale); and have a jointly written patent under application.
University of Queensland, Australia: I have taken part in the UQ-PIE scheme organised by IROSE; have given lectures and facility tours to visiting students; and hosted an undergraduate student for a 2 month research trip / internship. I gave a lecture on hydrogen storage at the University of Queensland as part of the Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage course in the Department of Engineering.
